The environment in North Korea is very poor and is hard to live by. The place itself is very hard to grow crops and food and people have nothing to eat and some people even have to just eat plants, grass and bark off trees just to try and live. North Korea’s environmental crisis began in the 1950s when the Korean War resulted in forest fires and deforestation. The country took another hit in the 1990s when droughts and floods destroyed crops and left thousands dead. They have tried to change some of this stuff by bringing in American scientists and other people from other countries come in and help them with the environment and give them some ideas. And yes even Americans. And the government has also told it’s people to walk at least 10,000 steps a day like to work for example instead of taking a bus or tram.(Pictured below is the deforestation there, and a flood of the crops.)
