Movement in Georgia can be on rails, roads, ferries, or in the air. The total length in roads is 20,553 kilometers. For railroads, the total length is 1,576 kilometers. Because of the position of Georgia, it has become a very important route for other surrounding countries to transport energy imports through. It has also been apart of an important trade route between Russia and Turkey. They have recently began to invest in improving and modernizing transportation. Specifically, air and maritime transportation are on the uprising development. Currently, there are four international airports within Georgia. The main imports in Georgia are petroleum oils, motor cars, gasses, medicament, wheat, telephones, sugar, cigarettes, and automatic data processing machines. They import from the European Union, Turkey, Russia, China, and Azerbaijan. Their main exports are cars, ferro-alloys, mineral or chemical fertilizers, nuts, ferrous, gold, copper ores, spirituous beverages, and wine. They export these to the same countries that they import from.
