Southern India includes these states and territories: Andaman and Nicobar, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. South India, also known as Peninsular India, is bounded by the Bay of Bengal in the east, the Arabian Sea in the west, and the Indian Ocean in the south. The total population of South India is 253,051,953, which may seem like a lot until you realize that the total population of all of India is 1,326,801,576. India is the second most populated country and is estimated to surpass China by 2022. South India has a tropical climate and depends on monsoons for rainfall. The year-round average temperature for Southern India is 27 °C, or about 80 °F. India has four seasons, like us, but they are much different from ours. While we have spring, summer, fall, and winter, India has winter, summer, monsoon, and post-monsoon. For us, our spring is typically from March/April to May, summer is from June to August, fall is from September to the end of October, and winter is from November to February/March. For India, their winter is from December to February, summer is from March to May, and then comes monsoon season, which is from June to September, and post-monsoon season is from October to November.
